After a lot of interest we have now created pdfs of these original and out-of-print booklets. In the early-mid 1990s, David produced these handwritten and illustrated booklets, photocopied and bound them all himself and shipped them out to a limited number of recipients. In order to make these rare and interesting documents available to the new grip community, we have scanned all of the original booklets and covers to create new unedited, colour pdfs for you to enjoy.

The original York Blob is notoriously hard to source and very expensive to ship, so we have developed a exact replica cast from our own original York 50lb Blob (gen 2) in hardwearing resin which will fit the GripTopz loading pins. The huge advantage of the BlobTop is that it is much lighter than the original whilst feeling identical in size and texture so you can use it to train up to lifting the Blob itself, which obviously only comes in at one (heavy!) poundage, often too much for people to start with.

The new World of Grip steel snapping challenge - not for the faint hearted! It's simple - to get your name on our list, snap all 3 pieces of steel inside twenty minutes, using 1 pair of World of Grip wraps. Includes 1 piece each of 8mm x 7" steel (equivalent to the IM Red), Grade 8 bolt and Grade 5 bolt. Grip Feats page
These are fun new 'pocket money' toys! Ready to screw or tap into a log or to be set into a concrete mould, you can create odd-shaped and unique grip feats and challenges for your gym. We are starting the range of Grip Anchors with an 8mm stub screw, a 12mm stub screw and a half penny nail, and will be expanding the range. The screw-in anchors require a pilot hole to be drilled before they are screwed in, and the half penny nail can simply be tapped into wood. Fun and effective!

After something of a hiatus in the advent of new World of Grip products, we're bringing you a big hitter! Back in 1994 I was watching a rugby union match in Johannesburg, South Africa on television, and during the pre-amble they talked about a challenge given out by one of the city's gold companies. This challenge involved lifting a gold bar, (worth £84,000 then in 1994) by your index finger and thumb only in a pinch grip. If you did achieve this feat then you could keep this incredible prize! I immediately contacted the television company but heard nothing. A few years ago, with the joys of the internet I was able to track this challenge down, and found that it was still being offered. It is now part of a mine tour at the Gold Reef City Theme Park in Johannesburg, where after a guided underground tour, you get a chance to see a gold bar being poured, and then another gold bar (weighing 12.5k) is brought out for anyone to try to lift, and of course touch, whilst the security guard looks on. I did contact this company for more details, as I wanted to know more about the challenge before travelling to South Africa. Once again there was no reply - I guess they don't want to give away the gold to some 'pro' grip athlete travelling from Britain!
This new Gold Bar Top for the GripTopz apparatus was first built as a prototype in 2011 to simulate this feat and is based on dimensions of a standard gold bar. We have elongated the walls of the 'bar' to allow for a full one-handed lift and it is a truly challenging and fun new pinch event. We are initiating full British and World Record lists for this new event.
Loading pin not included - available separately. Compatible with standard GripTopz loading pins.

A useful stop-gap training tool for those of you anxious to get training on the GripTopz Half a Penny and a fun and affordable addition to any collection. This original old one penny is drilled to allow you a grip on only half of the coin and attached to a sturdy S-hook (pennies are genuine historical articles and so will show signs of tarnish/wear - we don't use any very worn ones though). This can be attached to our standard GripTopz pin or used with your own carabiner to attach to any other pin. In our testing the weights lifted have been similar to those achieved on the GripTopz Half a Penny.
Revised edition released by popular demand as a PDF document. Now with almost 1500 entries. Invaluable guide for researchers and collectors. 21,719 words, 97 pages.
Cost: £9.99 pounds sterling

The original EuroPinch was invented this back in 2004 so that an adjustable pinch lift could be used in the European contests, and so that all hand sizes would be catered for. This was achieved by having hard rubber discs as the inside spacer discs to alter the width of the steel outer discs. These steel outer discs gave the same feel and look of a plated Pinch Lift.
We have had a lot of requests for the pinch apparatus since we had to discontinue it due to supplier issues so we can now offer these steel plates so that you can create your own EuroPinch set up at home.
You will receive 2 x 6mm steel plates laser cut to the exact size of the EuroPinch with a central 50mm hole. If you want to use your apparatus for competition you will need to get either hard rubber or plastic spacers cut (we use 6mm and 10mm thicknesses) to make your equipment comply with regulations for records. If you just want to use it for training purposes then you can make your own spacers from wood or any other material you choose. A standard short 2" scaffolding bar is ideal for the central bar and you will need tight collars to fasten the plates in their upright position.
Finally, as these are laser-cut the edge is quite sharp. It is acceptable to use a file to round this off slightly if you prefer.
Cost: £39.99 pounds sterling. YOU WILL RECEIVE 2 X 6MM LASER-CUT STEEL PLATES ONLY.

HorneTop OUT OF STOCK
This is our version of the ever-popular anvil lift and is great for training your vertical supporting strength.
MoonTop
A smaller brother of the GlobTop which is more manageable for those of us who don't have giant hands!
GlobTop
The Glob is the end of a York 60lb globe dumbell which was coined as a feat by Chris Mathison and Jedd Johnson, who lift it Blob-style by spanning the top. The GlobTop (name produced with permission of Chris and Jedd) is designed to emulate this feat in a loadable fashion. It's certainly a challenge!
Interchangeable tops that fasten easily onto the Olympic loading pin by means of a bolt and nut. Please note that the loading pin is painted but the Topz are not; this is to ensure that every set is identical and seasons in the same manner for competition and record purposes. We are also introducing the new Adjustable Thick Bar Top, which includes 3 different diameter bars (42mm, 49mm, 60mm), each welded onto a baseplate with fin (which prevents the fingers wrapping underneath the bar) so that every athlete can choose the most appropriate size, thus taking the 'big hand advantage' out of the thick bar event.
Half a Penny OUT OF STOCK
This is a laser cut coin in the shape of an old English penny that is protruding from a plate, like it is stuck in the slot of a machine. This feat is even harder than the feat which it is derived from, which was performed by the old English strongman, J.C. Tolson. In 1933 he lifted 65lb on a full penny that had been soldered onto a lead block. This was duplicated later by Laurence Chappell and Bruce White.
Stub OUT OF STOCK
This exercise is to lift a small 8mm round stub of steel that is protruding through the plate. It could be harder; Franz Fottinger lifted weights by grasping an ordinary needle protruding from wood back in 1896.
Shallow Hub
Lifting a 45lb disc by the hub has long been a favourite feat of grip strength, and many have taken it to higher levels with extra weight added onto the disc. It has a lot to do with the depth of the hub and the style used to lift. This hub is very shallow, and the style to be used is the orthodox lifting ‘claw-grip’ style.
Adjustable Thick Bar UNAVAILABLE *New version* Thick bar lifting has been a recognised feat since the early days of strongmen performers. This adjustable version now features 3 different diameter handles on fixed bases, rather than the earlier version in which the handles were changed on 1 single base. This makes it much speedier to change between sizes. The choice of multiple handles eliminates the advantage traditionally gained by having a large hand for this event. The fin is welded at an angle to prevent the fingers from wrapping round the bar and locking under the thumb.
Solid steel spheres useful for prehab, rehab and low intensity finger dexterity and hand manipulation work. Particularly effective for grip athletes, musicians, magicians, climbers and so on. Supplied in pairs. Sizes available are 50mm (weight approx 0.55kg each); 40mm (weight approx 0.3kg each) and 30mm (weight approx 0.1kg each). The small size is most suited to juniors/small-handed women.

A sturdy ring made from solid steel. Get ready for this year’s Highland Games and Strongman events. Suitable for both weight for height and for distance. Handle can be attached to the weights by either thick rope or chain and by a carabiner (as pictured). The weight pictured here is 28lb (being thrown by Nick McKinless in training) but you can load the weight to your requirements. Please be sure when buying chain/carabiner for the ring that you get one that is strong enough for the weight that you will be throwing (easily found in your local DIY/hardware store). Great tool for strongman and strength fitness training.
The Vulcan hand gripper is a fantastic training device that is designed to allow your gripper crushing prowess to progress slowly and steadily from strength to strength without having to buy more and more grippers - it will take you from the lightest rehab training right up to the heaviest gripper close all in one package! The lightest setting is easier than the Trainer and the heaviest is harder than the equivalent of a #4. Adjustable nutcracker-style gripper with smooth action (no skew) solid steel handles and numerous settings (11 notches each side - see picture). The new laser-cut model (V2) has now been introduced (July 2011). These are beautifully made with a very smooth action and are powder coated for a durable finish.
The first batch of the grippers are marked with a 1 on the handle end to indicate that they are from the first batch ever produced.

UPDATE 18/12/07 - Today my 18 month old daughter Lucy had a go with the Vulcan Hand Gripper. You ask how? Well very simply really, I took the spring off and replaced it with a rubber band and hey presto a gripper for a baby! So she now can play, as that's what she's doing, with the same gripper I will be using to advance to close a #4.
Also with this rubber band idea, you can micro load even more. Rather than just moving the spring up one notch, which is a small increase anyway, you could just add an elastic band!
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION - We have never had a spring break but please be aware that springs do fatigue over time and may snap. Keep this in mind and check your springs - keep away from your face when using.
Cost: (includes one spring) £69.99 pounds sterling
PLEASE NOTE - Now supplied with CROM spring. This is a very hard spring - if you would prefer to have an orange spring supplied with your V2 please contact us at the time of ordering.
At last - the redeveloped wrist developer is ready! The WD2 boasts the same original features as the first model, but in a smoother package; the steel is now laser cut for greater uniformity and a clean look. Incredibly strong and still a great tool.
IN STOCK - Colour is now BLACK
Now supplied with orange spring as standard. The current batch of heavy springs are CROM springs (3 levels harder than the black) and will be too hard for all but the top rung athletes. If you prefer to receive your WD2 with a CROM please tell us when you order.
This is a revolutionary new piece of equipment that will save you a fortune in bending steel and massively improve your reverse bending technique. Mimics the motion of a reverse bend and provides the opportunity for volume training without the expense of multiple pieces of steel. It is for Reverse bending style only, and not manufactured for the double overhand or underhand styles.
High quality all-steel construction, with two 12mm bar ’ends’ that are tensioned by a selection of springs. The range of motion on the machine will take you from the start position of a straight bar through to a 40 degree bend in a single movement, and then
back to the straight bar again to start on reps! Move the springs along the notches to increase the poundage of the bend - or back again to make it easier. A fully adaptable and practical piece of apparatus suitable for any home or commercial gym.
Use your own bending wraps for the ends of the bars, or contact me if you need them. Please specify which of the three springs you would like supplied with the Wrist Developer. Original, 10% weaker, or 20% weaker. If you would like advice on which would best suit your needs, please contact me.
