Stonelifting in Scotland - Part 2

Postby ThorstenM » Sat Apr 24, 2010 1:19 pm

The trip from Crathie to Dalwhinnie was funny across the highlands

The area at Dalwhinne is really beautiful

Here are some pictures from Dalwhinnie:

After the Dalwhinnie stone we drove back to the hotel and after some beers we tried our luck in front of the hotel:

On saturday then we visited Loch Ness and the Urquhart castle. Very nice place, highly recommended to visit!

After some sightseeing we decided to visit the Menzies castle in Aberfeldy.

I am not 100% sure what the weight of this stone is, we heard from 150 Kg and more, 150 Kg sounds okay IMO!

It was a fantastic trip, good food, nice weather (up to 20°C), lot of fun - and now we hope to do it again in 2 years or so?

Enjoy the pictures!

Cheers

Now that's my idea of a holiday!
