Double Underhand Grip Bending

Rules for Double Underhand Grip Bending

1. For double underhand, your hands are in the double underhand position. The bend is finished when you attain a 40 degree plus angle of bend.
2. No part of the competitor’s arms/hands may touch their body below waist level. Upper arm down to elbow is allowed contact with chest and stomach. Any part of the arm may contact from the pectorals and above. Hands may only contact body from pectorals and above, this is primarily to prevent injuries caused by unsupported rotation of wrist under extreme load during a bend.
3. The object being bent may not dip below waist level at any time during the bend.
4. Wraps for protection will be the required material allowed for each section. Importantly the two wraps will touch each other in the middle of the bar. This is to make sure that no extra leverage is gained. Do not pack the wraps with chalk.
5. No gloves are allowed. No wrapping or taping of any part of elbows, wrist, forearm, and hands is allowed.
6. Only chalk is allowed.

All bending claims should be accompanied with a video (Youtube, sent to me, etc) unless it was done in a ratified contest, under these rules, or in front of me. This video should show the length and width of the bar using a ruler, and a calliper (digital), prior to the start of the bend.

For the Barehand section, there are three categories (Flat HRS bars, CRS and HRS bars). For the other sections we will recognise: Grade 5 bolts, Grade 8 bolts and IronMind Red/FBBC Bastard bars. This keeps it simple.

Rules for Barehand Double Underhand Bending

Same rules as Double Underhand bending rules apply except the bend has to be performed with just your bare hands.
For this I am going to make the cert bends Flat HRS bars, Hot or Cold Rolled Steel bars, from 7" - 10".
Please measure the width with a digital caliper on the video.
Time limit = 1 min

For the Flat Hot Rolled steel bars, clip and file the corners if you wish. We will rank the thickness, followed by the width and then the length. This gives plenty of increments.
Time limit = 1 min
